Mais Energia - Intergroup Social Responsibility Programme - SHV Energy and Makro
Mais Energia (More Energy) is an educational program initiated by Supergasbras, SHV Energy, in 2004, on sustainable gastronomy, hygiene, home and food safety. A kitchen-on-wheels visits vulnerable communities. In a classroom in the ECOA space, Supergasbras develops many other social responsibility activities.
Partnership with Makro
The course was adapted to be given as part of the “CIEP Charles Chaplin” public school curriculum, to fulfill the subject “Life Project”, that aims to link academic content to real life, strengthening the meaning of studying for youngsters.
Located in a vulnerable community formed by families of recyclers that used to work in the Gramacho landfill (deactivated since 2012), in the metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro, this school stands out due to the commitment of students and teachers to be “game changers” in this reality. 24 people will get benefited by this course, that will focus on Bakery lessons. To enable it, Supergasbras will provide the teachers, stationery and know-how. Makro will donate the ingredients for practical lessons and will receive the students in one store for a special class. Both companies will be able to involve employees as volunteers.
The project will last for the whole academic year of 2019, split into 3 phases:
Workshops (3 months)
- Conscious consumption
- Healthy Eating
- Alternative recipes
Permaculture (3 months)

- Organic production
- Zero waste
