We are currently expanding our Global Operational Technology (OT) team. The successful candidate will join a group of Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) / Manufacturing Execution System (MES) OT Specialists, Industrial Automation Engineers, Project Managers, and another Manufacturing OT Specialist who all report to the Global OT Manager.

The Manufacturing OT Application Specialist acts as a Business and OT intermediary: In cooperation with MOM/MES OT Specialists, Process Owners and Key Users, he or she provides support to current OT Blueprints, as well as the development and implementation of improvements. The Manufacturing OT Application Specialist manages a portfolio of changes and follows all necessary approval and prioritization processes. Furthermore, he or she provides support within the scope of applications across our manufacturing sites, particularly within the feed and food production industry.

About The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing MES applications across global manufacturing sites.

  • Collaborate with OT MOM / MES specialists, Automation Engineers, process owners, plant operators, and local IT managers to ensure seamless MES operations.

  • Develop and implement improvements and enhancements to the MES blueprint, following established change and configuration management procedures.

  • Ensure MES solutions align with ISA-95 standards and integrate effectively with other OT and IT systems.

  • Design and develop API interfaces and OPC UA integrations to connect MES with automation and enterprise systems.

  • Participate in site assessments, solution rollouts, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing across the OT team.

  • Developing and improving the delivery of integrations (interfaces) concepts, being the natural sparring partner for central interface (development and support) group.

  • Providing expertise and advice on the solution, content, architecture concerns, interpretation and application of all aspects of the business standard/expectations.

 Skills and Expertise

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent engineering.

  • 5+ years’ relevant experience in Manufacturing OT Domain and technical and/or functional application support.

  • Proven experience supporting and developing MES applications in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the feed, food, fine chemicals or FMCG industries.

  • Strong understanding of ISA-95 and its application in MES and OT systems.

  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and C# programming languages.

  • Experience developing and integrating API interfaces and OPC UA communication protocols.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions, as well as familiarity with change and configuration management processes in industrial environments.

  • Knowledge of ISA-88 and other industrial automation standards.

  • Experience with industrial networks and cybersecurity in OT environments.

  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural team across time zones.

  • Willingness to travel up to 10–15% internationally to support site activities, assessments, and deployments.
