Nutreco Switzerland GmbH is home to Nutreco Exploration (NutEx), the ingredient development partner for Nutreco’s global animal nutrition businesses: Trouw Nutrition (land animals) and Skretting (aquaculture). We discover, develop, and produce novel feed ingredients using cutting-edge Phytotechnology and Microtechnology, improving the health and welfare of both aquatic and land animals through science-based, sustainable innovation.
Our ambition is to build a proprietary portfolio of high-impact products, supported by patents, regulatory approvals, and a deep understanding of the biological systems we serve.
From our “Garden of the Future” in Arbon, Switzerland, we work as a tight-knit team of around 25 experts, collaborating daily in an agile, cross-functional setup. While we’re part of Nutreco — a global company with over 11,000 employees — NutEx has the dynamic, hands-on feel of a fast-paced innovation hub. We value curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning, and we believe strong teamwork drives better science and better business.
About the Role
This role is designed to connect the dynamic, innovation-focused environment at NutEx with the broader operations of Nutreco’s internal production and logistics network, known as the Global Supply Points (GSP). With locations in the Netherlands, Germany, and the USA, GSP supports the global supply of ingredients across Nutreco’s land animal business, Trouw Nutrition.
As our Supply Chain Lead, you’ll establish and shape the supply chain function at NutEx — implementing and executing scalable processes that support our continued growth and innovation — while working closely with experienced colleagues from GSP to ensure strong alignment within the wider Nutreco organization.
This is a highly connected role, requiring both versatility and structure. You’ll collaborate closely with the local team in Arbon as well as global stakeholders across GSP and Trouw Nutrition, ensuring a smooth interface between ingredient development and delivery at scale.
Your tasks will be to:
-
Develop and implement the Supply chain strategy for NutEx / Phytotechnology, aligned with business goals and in close collaboration with Plant Domestication and Plant Production teams.
-
Lead and execute demand planning activities and work with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate forecasting and efficient production.
-
Drive and execute the S&OE and IBP processes with internal customers, balancing supply and demand, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
-
Oversee and execute the order-to-cash process, continuously improving service levels and ensuring on-time, in-full delivery performance.
-
Work across operational, tactical, and strategic levels — from hands-on tasks to longer-term process development — with room to grow as the NutEx organization scales up over time.
What we ask
We’re looking for a versatile and proactive Supply Chain professional who’s ready to take the next step in their career — someone who enjoys shaping their own path in a collaborative, evolving environment.
This role will suit someone with a hands-on mindset and a natural interest in how things work across functions. You’re likely early- to mid-career, comfortable navigating both established structures and areas where things are still being built. You’re motivated by the chance to contribute to something with long-term impact, and you bring curiosity, flexibility, and a willingness to grow with the role.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach will be key — you’ll be working with colleagues from different teams, backgrounds, and countries, and your ability to connect the dots will help everything run more smoothly.
What you bring:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain.
-
Background in agriculture or horticulture is a great advantage.
-
Proven experience in (international) Supply Chain, Planning (IBP), or Operations.
-
Proficient with Excel and ERP systems (we use Infor M3).
-
Fluent in English; German and/or Spanish are a plus.
-
Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%).
