We are looking for an enthusiastic Accounts Payable Accountant to join our UK accounts payable team on a 6 month contract. In this role you will ensure compliance with all accounts payable activities, including accurate posting, VAT compliance, and sound working capital management. This is a remote UK role with monthly travel to Cheltenham for team meetings.
Overview:

  • Process purchase invoices
  • Support Purchase Order and Purchase Invoice enquiries from the Business Units to ensure compliance and efficiency
  • Process payment card and expenses transactions into the ledgers
  • Set up supplier payment runs
  • Perform supplier statement reconciliations
  • Input changes to the Supplier Master
  • Post journals such as accruals and prepayments
  • Support the delivery of internal and external audit documentation (such as invoice copies, proof of supplier payment etc.)

Responsabilities:

  • Previous finance experience, ideally within purchase ledger/ accounts payable
  • Proven ability to work to tight timescales and meet deadlines
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and teamwork
  • Results‑driven with a strong attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
  • £27,000 per annum (pro rata)
  • Generous Annual Leave – Starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy additional leave and increased entitlement with length of service (pro rata)
  • 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, remote role with monthly travel to Cheltenham for team meetings (after a couple weeks of office based training)
