Own your impact at Skretting Norway. As a Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring the availability of raw materials, medicines and packaging that support our operations and our purpose of Feeding the Future. This is an opportunity to take ownership of procurement activities, contribute to strategic sourcing decisions and help drive continuous improvement across processes and systems. 
What you'll do
You will be responsible for initiating and securing the purchase of forecasted and approved raw materials, medicines and packaging in a cost-effective and timely manner, in alignment with local and corporate guidelines. The role requires autonomy in managing the procurement function for the OpCo, overseeing the spend not controlled by Division Category Management.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Conduct market scanning to gain insights into the supplier landscape, emerging trends and new developments.
  • Analyze market trends and assess their impact on product availability and pricing.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, lead negotiations and provide recommendations to management.
  • Contribute to supplier sustainability initiatives, including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) activities and environmental footprint reporting.
  • Act as a key contact for quality management and ERP system-related matters.
  • Support the purchasing team with relevant information and guidance.
  • Lead relevant projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Skretting Global Procurement and Skretting Norway functional teams.
  • Travel nationally and internationally as required to support supplier relationships, business meetings and procurement activities.
Who we're looking for
You are a commercially minded procurement professional who enjoys taking ownership, building strong supplier relationships and turning market insights into business value.
You bring:
  • A university degree in a relevant field, or equivalent commercial experience.
  • Knowledge of sourcing methodologies, policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Good market understanding and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Reporting line
The Buyer will report to the Procurement Director in Skretting Norway.
