Join us in feeding the future

How can we develop smarter nutritional solutions that help fish grow better, stay healthier and thrive – while making aquaculture more sustainable?

Skretting Aquaculture Innovation (AI) are looking for a passionate and driven Researcher in Fish Nutrition to join our Aquaculture Innovation team in Stavanger, Norway.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of science, innovation and commercial impact. You will design and lead research projects, generate new knowledge and translate scientific insights into practical nutritional solutions for aquaculture.

This is an opportunity to work with highly skilled colleagues and international partners, contribute to innovation across the business, and see your research make a real difference in aquaculture.

What you'll do

As a Fish Nutrition Researcher, you will take research projects from idea and experimental design through execution, analysis and interpretation – and towards practical implementation.

You will:

  • Plan, coordinate, execute and interpret research studies related to fish nutrition.

  • Develop and lead investigations of nutritional solutions, with emphasis on optimising feed formulations, enhancing growth performance, and improving overall health and welfare.

  • Provide technical support on fish nutrition and formulation topics to our operating companies.

  • Manage collaborative projects with internal and external partners, including universities, research institutes, funding organisations, and suppliers.

  • Communicate results and findings to key stakeholders and support the implementation of innovations.

You will have the opportunity to work across disciplines and with colleagues and partners from different parts of the world, combining hands-on research with strategic and commercial perspectives.

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who combines scientific curiosity with a practical, hands-on mindset and enjoys turning research into solutions that create real value.

You bring:

  • A PhD in Fish Nutrition or a related field, or an MSc with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.

  • Experience from fish nutrition research or commercial fish farming is an advantage.

  • Strong competence in experimental design, fish trials, and statistical analysis.

  • Experience with laboratory work, diagnostics, and/or field sampling is valued.

  • A structured and analytical approach to planning, conducting, and interpreting research.

  • An innovative and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to turn ideas into practical solutions.

  • The ability to work independently while building strong relationships across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex scientific topics in a clear and engaging way.

  • High proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

An established network within relevant scientific communities is an advantage. However, we are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate the motivation and ability to build strong scientific and professional networks.

What we offer

At Skretting AI, you will become part of a well-established team of fish and shrimp nutrition researchers, working in a progressive and innovative environment. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of new ingredients, products, technologies, and concepts that support the future of aquaculture.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with colleagues and operating companies around the world, gaining exposure to diverse markets and expertise across our global organisation. As part of a leading company in aquafeed and animal nutrition, you will join a purpose-driven organisation committed to innovation, sustainability, and Feeding the Future.

We offer a collaborative culture, opportunities for professional growth and international collaboration, as well as competitive terms and strong pension and insurance schemes.

Our values of Trust, Inclusivity, Integrity, Passion, and Curiosity guide everything we do. The role is based in Stavanger, Norway.
