About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Manager – Salmonids and working closely with the Product Manager – LifeStart & Prawn, you will support salmonid customers while assisting with product lifecycle activities, R&D delivery, and commercial initiatives.
You will act as an important link between customers and internal teams, ensuring customer needs, technical requirements, and product performance activities are effectively supported.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Account Support

Support customer account plans and routine customer engagements.

Assist with technical sampling and data collection activities.

Prepare customer reports and performance summaries.
-
Help maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and professional support.

Support delivery of contractual commitments and customer outcomes.
Product Development & R&D Support

Assist with the planning and execution of R&D trials.
-
Support implementation of new products and product improvements.
-
Maintain product documentation and technical records.
-
Contribute to product lifecycle management activities and innovation projects.
Data Analysis & Reporting
-
Analyse fish performance, trial, and production data.
-
Prepare accurate reports and technical summaries.
-
Provide insights to support customer, technical, and commercial decision-making.

Support internal and external stakeholders with data-driven recommendations.
Market Intelligence & Commercial Support

Monitor industry trends and competitor activity.
-
Gather customer forecasts and market insights.
-
Support commercial teams with relevant technical and market information.
-
Contribute to initiatives that strengthen customer intimacy and business performance.
Safety, Quality & Compliance

Demonstrate a strong commitment to safe work practices.

Support WHS initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Nutreco and Skretting safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Identify and escalate risks that may impact customer outcomes or business performance.
What We're Looking For
Essential
-
Tertiary qualification in Aquaculture, Animal Nutrition, Animal Science, Animal Health, or a related discipline.

Current Driver's Licence.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
-
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and teams.
Desirable
-
Exposure to or experience in finfish aquaculture.
-
Understanding of fish nutrition, fish health, feed performance, or aquaculture production systems.

Experience supporting research, trials, or technical projects.

Commercial awareness and understanding of customer needs.

What's Involved
This role includes:

Office-based work and regular computer use.
-
Travel to customer sites throughout Tasmania.
-
Participation in customer visits, sampling activities, and field-based work.
-
Occasional manual handling, including lifting feed bags up to 20kg and fish up to 5kg.
